Holiday self care

We may not be unpacked in our new little home, but we do have the important things done: Christmas sheets on bed ✔️ Fresh Christmas tree in living room ✔️ (lacking ornaments and still surrounded by boxes, but that’s besides the point!)

Somehow it seems harder in the winter to maintain your regular self care routines. Going to the gym slows down, skin seems to be extra dry, and the stress that the holidays can bring are not good for the body either. With all the sweets & caloric food I’ve already eaten this season, at least I know one good thing done for my body– I’ve switched over to a natural deodorant (and it actually works)!

Lone Natural deodorant comes in many scents and they even have supplemental products like lip balm and body moisturizer. For sure my favorite deo of the line up would have to be the citrus. It only needs to be applied once and lasts alllll dayyyy. YES. As if that weren’t enough, the family company takes social responsibility seriously and they make all their formula & products in-house. If you are looking for a practical gift this season, maybe consider the gift of a fresh pit 😉 It’s the gift that keeps on giving! Haha, you can see them HERE.

Speaking of self care, here are my top three easy rituals to boost self care this winter:

  1. Get dressed up at least once a week. Something about the cold weather makes you wanna stay comfy cozy in pjs all day, but this can also leave a feeling of apathy. Get outta those yoga pants and feel good once in awhile!
  2. Try a new toiletry regimen. A face mask, a new deodorant (cough, cough, Lone Natural deodorants 😉 ), or maybe hot oil treatment for your hair! Just something, anything out of the ordinary that will enhance a sometimes beauty lull.
  3. Burn a candle. Preferably a Christmas candle that makes you feel all the warm and happy feels.
  4. Embrace the season. Spend quality time with loved ones, bake cookies, go to the mall and just look at the decorations, whatever brings the season’s magic closer to home. For me it’s Christmas movies and music. Those already watched: Santa Clause (twice), Elf (twice), The Grinch, Eloise at Christmas Time, and White Christmas. Up next is Polar Express! Do you have any favorites to add to the roster?
