As we get older, our lives get more complicated. Our days are consumed by work, school, responsibilities, and to do lists. My mom cannot just sign me out of work so we can hop on the plane like she used to do when we were kids in school (those were the days). So our family trips have become limited, making them very special to me. Last year we went to the Virgin Islands, and this go around we chose Hawaii because my dad had a work trip opportunity there. We have all come to the conclusion that Hawaii is THE easiest vacation, if you live in the USA. No passport needed, cell phones have service, you get all the conveniences of being in your country, but you get to feel like you’re somewhere exotic and foreign. We enjoyed ourselves, as you can tell! We stayed in Waikiki but ventured out to the North Shore and other less touristy parts of the island. Kailua Beach, Diamond Head Volcano, Byodo-In Temple, Waimea Bay/Falls, all the Japanese food and shave ice, and doing yoga every morning on the beach were a few highlights for me. More pictures and a recap video to come! Enjoy!
